COMMUNICATIONS
There is
no telephone within the centre. The nearest public telephone is sited in
Craik village (approx 3 miles from the centre). Due to the remote location
of the centre, reception on mobile phones cannot be guaranteed.
FOREST AREA
No cutting of trees, damage to Forestry
Commission property or disturbing the wildlife in the area must take place.
TRANSPORT
All
parties should note there is no public transport to Craikhope Centre; all
transport must be supplied by the group using the centre. The nearest rail
heads are at Edinburgh, Carlisle and Berwick upon Tweed. There are regular
bus services to Hawick from all areas. The nearest town is Hawick where
medical; petrol and other facilities are available.
